No Thank You
No Thank You was a solo exhibition born from an artist residency at Kekun Studio.
During this residency Jess Connor explored new media, expanding on an established illustration practice that was mostly digitally oriented. Opting for the medium of acrylic paint on canvas and working at a comparatively larger scale, the aim was to explore themes of dread and anxiety relating to social media in the physical realm rather than the digital.
No Thank You is a collection of artworks observing the rejection of contemporary and compassionate thinking that is stimulated by the use of targeted, fear based emotional management to create online content.
