Sponsored Content was organised and curated by Jess Connor as a DIY show comprised of experimental artworks deviating from their established practice at the time.
Jess Connor’s first solo exhibition, Sponsored Content is a collection of artworks that uses digital media to explore how the adoption of news and advertising into a digital format may lead to an acceleration in global fear and anxiety. Using collage to create propaganda-esque imagery of figures associated with this fear, the rhetoric is pushed to the point that it becomes absurd.
